Hello, it’s been a minute. I hope you are well and getting by with life’s many challenges.

Growing up, I had this incomplete understanding of what purpose is, in my head purpose was this big thing you had to accomplish, and if you don’t then you won’t find fulfillment in life. To cut it short, your life will be dark and bleak. And for the longest time till my 20’s I kept living like that, searching for that major thing that I termed my purpose. What I didn’t notice while doing all the searching is that I wasn’t living life as I should have.

What is the purpose? The Dictionary puts it better “It is a person’s sense of resolve or determination. It is also the reason for which something is done or created.”

We are all created by God and in us lies the will to live life to fullness. For me, I was looking at the great plan and neglecting the many things I was doing already that were also living purposely. I had a job that allowed me to learn at a fast pace, I was surrounded by friends and family that looked out for me. I was in NGOs that catered to a need in society and presently in groups that as fetched me solid friendships and growth. I have evolved and now understand that purpose is in the little things we do.

It’s in the giving, sharing, loving, fighting, and intentionality to bring value to this world. This is why we were created, God put value in us, he breathed his spirit upon us and gave us virtues, talents, gifts, and resources to fulfill that which he called us for.

And what is that? To serve him and in service, we grow one another too. That is why to date giving out value is a system that has worked over the years. It has enriched man and given rise to the development and growth of every nation.

Knowing and having a feeling of purpose matters. It is like a dossier that keeps a record of what you are doing at a time, so you check in to see how far you’ve come and what not to do.

It’s like a tracker that follows you through a journey. It finds you and defines you in every way. With it comes determination, and a drive to go all out till you find peace, that feeling of accomplishment.

Have I embraced that everything about me is already fulfilling my purpose? Yes, with all the joy it can give.

Have I found the peace of accomplishment? I am currently on it. What has changed? I have begun to see things from God’s word (Genesis 1:28).

And embraced all that I am now, a mother; a writer, a friend, and all I will be in the future.

If whatever you are doing right now, isn’t giving you a sense of fulfillment do not fret. Take it to God in prayers, and speak to well-meaning friends who can guide you to finding what it is.

Self-reflection can help, find a space, sit alone, get a pen and paper, and ask yourself questions along the lines of:

  • What do you like to do best or what interests you the most?
  • What makes you sad or angry about society or your immediate environment?
  • What would you easily do if you were woken up from sleep at 2 am?
  • What are your gifts or talent? Etc.

Know this, it is never too late to fulfill your purpose. Age is not a factor, what I consider a factor is your willingness to push yourself through thick and thin to fulfilling your purpose.

Remember that purpose is in the littlest things around us — family, friends, association and so on.

I hope you find a positive purpose in all you do.

I have great news to share. I have started my YouTube channel, it’s about Motherhood and all there is to it.
